ARHER BEACH

Located on the northeast shores of Socotra Island, Arher Beach is one of the most iconic places in Socotra and one of the most beautiful beaches in the world!! The beach itself is pretty gorgeous, with endless white sand meeting beautiful turquoise water, but the most impressive are the incredible white dunes, cascading down from rugged cliffs and onto the sea.
One of the most beautiful things to do in Arher Beach is to climb up one of the dunes before dawn, and enjoy the sunrise over the ocean! The sand is very soft, so the climb up the dune is pretty hard (count for at least 30 minutes) but the view from the top is an incredible reward!!!
The sun goes down behind the mountains quite early on so if you fancy catching the sunset, head to the eastern point of the island, where the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean meet! Don’t miss the giant whale bones that are spread out on the beach and used to create sculptures.
