HOMHIL
Description.
The Homhil plateau in Socotra is a magical landscape known for its beautiful flora of Dragon’s Blood Trees, Bottle Trees, Frankincense Trees, and Maryah
Beyond the plateau, the most spectacular sight in Homhil is the stunning natural infinity pool, overlooking the sea hundreds of meters down. It is one of the most beautiful places I have seen in Socotra and we were very lucky to be there mostly alone!
To reach the infinity pool we drove to the Homhil Plateau campsite, and then walked down the mostly dried-out canyon for around 30 min. Once we were done, we walked down the hill back to sea level. Alternatively, a lot of visitors hike up from the sea to the infinity pool and back down again! I think the hike up must be pretty strenuous, but at least the infinity pool is the perfect spot to cool off and rest while soaking up some extraordinary views.
